(lallesi GoaAten, - - 1951 Not suspecting what we'll meet, Excitedly we take our seats. The flimsy cars rock to and fro Waiting impatiently to go. Fear mounts—train ascends— Curdling shouts—we round a bend! Of this voyage every part Makes a groove upon our hearts. Higher, higher still we zoom, Even more the terror looms. We wonder as we mount the crest, Are we bewildered as the rest? Breathless with anxiety, Gazing heavenward, we feel, As the celestial clouds recede. The encouraging rays we desperately need. 'Neath the load the cars do pause. A glimpse of the future we see with awe. High abreast the utmost peak, Only God's will we aim to seek. Ahead of us the fairgrounds lie. Balloons and banners are flying high. Crowds swarm, drifting here and there, Gaiety appearing everywhere. But what is restless within the soul? A world reeking corruption and mold. Quickly, too quickly, the platform draws nigh. Though slightly shaken, our spirits are high. Where to next? Will we find the clue? To right the world—THIS—we must do.
