SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS As parents and teachers, prerent or potential, we have come more and more to realize how great must be our individual concern with the development and adjustment of these our children. And this development and adjustment, we now see, must be physical, mental, and emotional in even measures. The individual child is indeed a whole child living in a particular time and place and having to learn how to get along with other individuals. C. M. MUSSER PRINCIPAL OF THE HIGH SCHOOL There is nothing so precious in the world as our freedom. Where else can we think as we please, select the kind of occupation we desire, and work and worship where we choose? How anyone can dare to work against a republic form of government that offers such privileges is very difficult to understand. No form of government is perfect, but that one is best that provides the greatest opportunity for each of us to develop all his God-given faculties. Let us strive to preserve in the United States of America those blessings which make for happy, self-respecting, liberty-loving human beings. S. N. CURRIER ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE HIGH SCHOOL Education to be complete and sufficient must inspire the student with a sense of personal responsibility so to live that he shall, by act and by word, instill and enforce in the hearts, the minds, and the consciences of men, those eternal truths of human life without which civilization itself will perish:—to worship our common God, to maintain civic and personal morality, to succeed with our neighbors, and to govern our conduct accordingly. Beach Much of the success of the American school system can be attributed to the good management of School Boards. The members of the Sharon Board of Education are elected by the townspeople to serve for terms of either two or six years, and may come up for re-election as many times as they desire. Our Board is comprised of seven members who hold their meetings monthly in the office of the Superintendent of Schools. At their meetings they arrange for the collection of tax money to finance the budget, plan for future improvement of the school system, budget all funds, and employ the school personnel. During the past year the local Board has spent many additional hours, in and out of meetings, executing plans for the three hundred and fifty thousand dollar educational improvement and expansion program now in the process of completion. 6
