Sharon High School Yearbook 1987 Sharon High School Yearbook 1987 AUTHOR TITLE DATE DUE BORROWER S NAME ROOM NUMBER MM W ® yafaf Bftaron Mas scwiwm Sharon High Schooi Library Sharon, Massachusetts s From our first steps into Sharon High to our graduation day, we, the class of ' 87 have collected memories that will last in our minds forever. That first year, who would have be lieved that this freshman class would four years later be seniors? r u? f 7 ; 3 We finally made it here. Now we get to experience what we heard so much about in junior high school and elementary school. So many questions to be answered . . . Where ' s the pool? What ' s a pink slip? Is it D day? Do I need to carry all my books? How many days ' til summer? 4 KCTIC 6 We answered all our questions soon enough and quickly as- sumed a leadership position in the school with the election of our class officers. Our enthusiasm at the pep rally showed the school we would be a competitive force at the homecoming game and halloween assembly. Our first spirit week increased our class pride while our selling of suncatchers brought an increase to the treasury. Our Freshman year was finally over but graduation day still loomed far off in the horizon. We no longer had a principal, but one would never have known. We launched a magazine drive and purchased our class rings. Our dream to be on the road was finally realized after we spent endless afternoons in Driv- er ' s Ed classes. Another dream came true at the year ' s finale, a semi-formal dance held at Sapphire Manor. With our Sopho- more year a great success, we looked forward to becoming Juniors. T? 10 No longer starry-eyed underclassmen, we now faced the reality of PSAT ' s and filling in thousands of little ovals. Junior year finally made us wonder at THE FUTURE. Colleges — majors — careers — guidance class sure gave us plenty to dream of! Sharon High kept us down-to-earth though, and in between boxes of M 8c M ' s and glances at our new principal Dr. Culley, we excitedly awaited the Junior Prom, hoping that no other girl would be wearing the same dress and agreeing with SADD that we all wanted to arrive alive.” Life saving with our classmate Annie became the only crash course we wanted, except, of course, the long-awaited approach to senior year. We finally made it! With Marsengold, the candystore and the eyeopener all in tow we were more than ready to finish our years at Sharon High with class, and once again with a new principal, but old friend Doc. Blanchon. Surviv- ing the last of our SAT ' s and Achievements, we recov- ered to a case of senioritis. TOO early? . . . No, never! Watch out world, here we come! As we leave Sharon High, we let the doors close softly behind us. A wistful desire for security makes us want to leave them open a little, but the wishful yearning for new experiences leads us to other doors. We walk step by step, confidently but a little scared. Sharon High has taught us not to be afraid to open new doors. Now we ' re ready to reach for the stars! senior class officers and planning board sitting (left to right): Sukyong Park, Michelle Freedman, Beth Rochefort, Andrea Greenidge, Susan Cum- mings, Yvette McMullen, Cathy Hand, Jay Brooker kneeling (left to right): Sherri Doxer, Jennifer Whittman, Kerry Kiernan, Jennifer Rattet, Lou Posner, Dannielle Mann, Rachel Arfa, Tanya Gould, Julie Morris, Tina Peckham, Julie Neiman, Michelle Chorney standing (left to right): Elisa Kaplan, Karyn Ross, Michele Halio, Suzanne Kling, Richard Triager, Shari Lyons, Julie Sullivan, Eric Levin, Marci Leven, Pam Douglas, Jamie Auerbach, Sandi Shapiro, Kristina Apse, Mike King, Brenda Barnhart, Mike Lovett, Andy Pelletz, Joanna Clayman. 20 standing (left to right): Catherine Hand, Secretary, Yvette McMullen, Vice President, Jay Brooker, Treasurer, sitting: Susan Cummings, President Michael Alkins THANKS. The annual as- sembly gave the seniors a chance to show off their bizarrely attired class, and the whole school got caught in the spooky spirit throughout the day. Even some of the teachers dressed up com- pleting the wild and wacky scene. A bitterly cold November day could not lessen the excitement at the 1986 Homecoming Game. Along with the routines by the cheer- leaders, pom-pom girls, and majorettes, the halftime show featured the annual float parade and the naming of the senior Homecoming Queen, Michelle Connors. Her court consisted of Yvette McMullen, Michelle Chorney, Lisa Snow, Alisa Kablotsky, Carolyn Elkind, Susan Cummings, and their escorts. To make the day complete, the Shar- on Eagles handily defeated the Hornets of Mansfield; 27-13 thanksgiving pep rally As the Sharon Eagles prepared for the Thanksgiving game, the school showed their support in the form of the annual Pep Rally. Bedecked in maroon and gold, students cheered as the football team was intro- duced and the cheerleaders, pom-pom squad and majorettes per- formed their routines. The Hockomock Shuffle gave everyone a laugh, and surely helped the football team realize how appreciative and proud the school is of their winning record, and their most successful season in years. 155 Lady Windermere’s Fan CAST Parker Danny Waltuck Lady Windermere Kate Donovan Lord Darlington Jeremy Blumenthal Duchess of Berwick Melissa Fleishman Lady Agatha Carlisle Julie Kopp Lord Windermere Daniel Katz Mr. Dumby Marc Kramer Lady Stutfield Carlyn Carey Mr. Hopper Adam Goldman Lord Augustus Keith Bernard Cecil Graham Jeff Rowse Lady Plymdale Shirah Zidel Mrs. Erlynne Lauren Keefe Lady Jedburgh Cindy Briggs Rosalie Linda King Footmen Josh Blumenthal Jeff Wilson Director Mr. Carlyle Newton Producer Jeremy Blumenthal On December 12 and 13, 1986, after months of hard work, the Sharon High Drama Club presented their most successful production to date. Lady Windermere ' s Fan, by Oscar Wilde. Drama Club Advisor, Mr. Carlyle New- ton, directed this highly stylized comedy of manners, which entertained both night ' s audiences and gener- ated the most publicity (not to mention money) the Drama Club has received. The show starred Kate Donovan, with extraordinary performances by seniors Daniel Katz, Danny Waltuck, Jeff Rowse, Jeremy Blumenthal, Julie Kopp, Lauren Keefe, Melissa Fleishman and Shirah Zidel, and the Pro- duction Staff was supervised by Producer Jeremy Blu- menthal, Construction Chief Adam Soloman and Soph- omore Stage Manager Debbie Rogers.
