Pride In The Past, That’s not only a time- waster, but it wastes time. Why didn’t you do the reading ? HISTORY AND SOCIAL STUDIES The adage, “history repeats itself,” plays a significant part in the study of history. Thru an analysis of the past, the student can arrive at an understanding of the present domestic and international complexities. Moreover, patterns of events are such that one can reasonably pre- dict the future, a future in which today’s stu- dents will be active participants. Thus, the History Department, offering courses which prepare them for this participation, strives to produce citizens, informed and determined to make a better world. Have I rattled any cages ?
