Sharon High School, port of Sharon, Massachusetts, United States of Amer- ica, Western Hemisphere, Earth, Solar System, being of unsound mind and body, do make and declare this to be our final Will and Testament. Frank Beveridge leaves his supply of Band-Aids to any Junior who feels like cutting upni-while shaving, that is. James Boyden heads for prep school leaving Lee for brother Jack to keep an eye on. Don't strain your eyes, Jack! Frank Brunetta leaves his football equipment to Bill Burtt. Ralph Bullard leaves his View of South Main Street to the future occupant of Room 101 who owns binoculars. Albert Cole leaves with the hope that the Braves will do a war dance and start scalping the other National League teams, so that, this year, they will have a pennant to hang from the top of their wigwam. Jean Cole and Mary Coyne leave their first period trips uptown to any pair who need a brisk walk to wake them up in the morning. John Crouse leaves with faith in the future. Elaine Dennen leaves her gasping gig- gle to Joanne Hamer. Barbara Dennett leaves her hearty laugh and good disposition to any underclassman. Walter Feeley leaves his smart ward- robe to Georgie Goodwin, who will carry on in his tradition of impress- ing out-of-towners. Janet Fleming leaves her supply of puns to Farley Peck who, we are sure, will laugh at them even if no one else does. The untiring travelers climbed the Bunker Hill Monument and toured the famous frigate, Old Ironsides. They also enjoyed visit- ing the Pioneer Village in Salem. October 30, 1951 . . . At 8:30 A.M. a group of hardy Juniors set out with Miss Chase on an American history class trip to the historic shrines of Lexington, Concord, and Sudbury. They visited such places as the Antiquarian House, Emerson's Study, the battlegrounds, and an un- derground hiding place for munitions. February 5, 1952 . . . Today the long awaited rings for the Junior Class finally arrived, and those who were lucky enough to have the cash on hand were treated to the first View of the excellently chosen and beautifully designed rings of the Class of 1953. May 9, 1952 . . . This is the date of the Junior Prom, and as we go to press, the information that we have received seems to indicate that this will be one of the most original in recent years. We understand that it will be held at the gymnasium of the new Cottage Street School with simple but highly effective decorations. We congratulate the class on a fine presentation, for we know that it will be a success. 24 . Harman lb Q go Hmong tba Jfirst illllates Boys Robert Reid Alan Dunakin . Gavin Wrightson Alan Dunakin . Seaman? Ing October 31, 1951 . . . The Freshmen attained their first triumph of the year by winning, at our annual Halloween Party, second prize for their humorous skit portraying a typical classroom. November 16, 1951 . . . They embarked upon A Visit to Shanghai with Oriental lanterns, pagodas, and slant-eyed figures cleverly creating the atmosphere of the Orient. The entire dance, under the capable direction of Mr. Harold Jackson, the class advisor, with the assistance of Miss Barbara Flemings, was a social triumph for the hardworking Freshmen. They showed originality and progressiveness by being the first Freshman class to provide music by an orchestra rather than by records. Christmas 1951 . . . The Freshmen again showed their talents by winning second prize in the non-religious class of our first Christmas Art Con- test. These are only a few of the activities of the Freshman Classg we are sure that their log will be filled with many more successful events. 28 Blancsengolb 5 iieiaiii? Wi? To be selected is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a high school student, for it stands for excellence in achievement not only in one phase, but in every line of endeavor. Under the direction of Mr. Harold Clark, our sponsor, and Faith Mc- Caffrey who was elected last year, this year's induction was held on Feb- ruary 15. The following were chosen: Janet Fleming, Barbara Dennett, Frank Beveridge, Frank .Foster, Edward Furash, and Ralph Bullard, Sen- iors, Joan Abel and Margaret Morgan, Juniors. In November, representatives attended the conven- tion of the Southeastern Branch of Associated Bodies of Student Councils at Middleboro High Schoool. ln April, they also attended the spring con- vention at Bridgewater High School. In addition to introducing The Christmas Art Contest and conducting the election for Good Government Day, they have continued with their other school services-taking charge of monitoring, conducting chapels, selling candy and tickets at home basketball games, and running the sup- ply room. Also the Student Council has managed, again this year, the magazine drive, the proceeds from which were used in part payment for an electric scoreboard. Through the use of the suggestion boxes, this group, representing the student body, has learned of the wishes of their fellow students, and has brought them to the attention of the proper authorities. We are fortunate to have such an active group to represent the student body.
