A, A 1 ,,,,5,L Princi als Message June is the month of Commencements. This year it brings special significance to you because you are included. Whether you have been successful in the program of ed- ucation you have pursued during your years in high school depends upon the goal that you established for yourself. The seeking of knowledge has always been the right of free man. Abraham Lincoln, through the ages, has been the great example of having risen from obscurity to fame. The difference many times between success and failure is ambition. The degree of success you will achieve will depend greatly on how well you have striven to attain your goal. The best wishes of your teachers and your principal go with you as you enter into the fields of your choosing, I Zag' Principal ,Aan-s. Our chapter is under the able leadership of Mr. Harold A. Clark, our principal. New members are selected every year from the senior and junior classes upon their completion of the fifth or seventh semester in their respective grades. The student who attains such recognition has shown himself superior in character, scholarship, leadership, and service and should be justly proud of his achievement. The second-year members of Sharon's chapter are Paul Vitali and Howard White, who, together with Mr. Clark, conducted the induction ceremony February 15. The seniors who were elected this year are Lola Jeffords, Phyllis McDonald, and Patricia Murray, and the newly elected juniors are Joah Marshall and Faith McCaffrey. The team this year was very successful, not only be- cause of their victorious games, but because of the development of a spirit of friendliness and sportsmanship. Those who were on the squad for the second year, in adddition to Joan, were Virginia Metcalf, Priscilla Chaplin, and Portia Raider.. The first year girls were Betty Stressenger, Nancy Guillet, and Joan Marshall, with Lola .Ieffords and Nita Reinhardt as alternates. Through very hard work-at short notice-the cheerleaders, together. with the girls' varsity, heldaa successful food sale and tea to raise money for new uniforms. The girls look very snappy in their maroon skirts and jackets with gold trim. The pep and enthusiasm which they have displayed have added much to -the excitement of every game.
