Valuablc' X --we 4-. ,,..,....--- ,,..---' ISURNI VI IOL KWOOD IAC K S'I ANIFORD Il ANFTTI BI AC lx Bl ITY IOWDI R UNIOR CLASS HI TORY In 1943 we entered Sharon s door prepared for hugh school We soon learned th It we vueren t un hugh school at ull beeause the twelfth grade had been added to the eounty sehols Instead we found ourselves between grammar school und hugh sehool Neverthe less, we felt pretty bug Our class had increased greatly, and most of the students from Woodlawn were new to us By the end of the year We were all just one bug class Our freshman year was the year that we really felt grown up It was our furst year un hugh sehool Our class was duvuded unto two classes Muss Gaddy as the gurls home Ioekwood, Vuce President, eanette Black Seeretary, and Betty Lowder, treasurer We hid our furst bug elass parties thus year and unvuted all the hugh sehool students to most of them We were then looking forward to a year that seemed more important to us We were Sophomores the next year We had lost some of our classmates the number un our homeroom greatly decreased We were once more united as a class having Mrs C, I' Neely as our sponsor We ehose as our class officers Burnett Lockwood Presu dent, Bull McCoy Vuee President, Hazelune Martun, Secretury and aek Stanford, Treusurer In our sophomore year we sponsored a munsrrel show to help funance us un .1 purty that we gave at the end of the school year Our year cume to a close and we were happy to know that we would be juniors next year As we came back to our uunuor year, we found we had a new class sponsor Miss Faye Overcash. Our class officers were Burnett Lockwood, Presidentug ack Stanford Vice-Presidentg Jeanette Black, Secretaryg and Betty Lowder, Treasurer. We again set out on the task of financing our biggest event of the year-the unior-Senior Banquet.
