Her interests outside of class include music and army privates. Active in all school activities, she has been a member of the PepClub, and band for four years, school plays and glee club. He has been active in athletics all through his high school career. Being a person always willing to help, he has participated in Glee Club and class plays. He is a lot of fun to have around. His future is un- decided. Seniors JOHN LAUDICK John has been called many names but no one nickname has been permanent. His likes seem to be good whiskey and pretty girls. He dislikes work and pretty girls boy friends. John is active in the music department where he plays in the band, sings, and plays clarinet solos. His ambition is to become a music teacher. Joe is small but mighty. Although handicapped by size he has been one of the dependable players in baseball and basketball. He likes pin ball machines, sports, and well built women. He is a genial guy who always makes a good time. In the future he hopes to be a farmer. CHARLES RINKE Rink became a member oi' our class last year when he transferred to Sharon from Hazelton. He likes plenty of time, late hours, and cheerleaders. His only d slike is a Chevrolet. His artistic talent will be remembered by all. His greatest desire is to make lots of money being an architect. She says she dislikes work. Her dream is to go to College and study Home Economics and Math. Her school activities have been band, glee club, yearbook and paper staff, and class plays. Seniors CHARLES RG E Charles NHedgeballN Rowe- is fond of eating and Fords. Acting as captain on the basketball team climaxs Lg years of active participation in this sport. His one gripe is against too much lipstick. Like the others in his class, he was active in music and class plays. This past year he served as sports editor for the Wwhirlwindu. He hopes to become a rancher someday. JIM SIMON Jim likes comic books, eating, and sports. He d slikes deputy marshals and conceited girls. His music interest centers around the song Old Shepn. H V. , Early September brought thoughts of starting on the school paper. we are busily collecting news, editing and printing the copies, a forecast of our activities yet to come. Under the direction of Orvilla Slater, editor, we cover the basketball games, class parties, class plays, and an endless number of other student activities. P R 'Y74Fp Mixed Chorus All during the school year the Mixed Chorus favored the stu- dents in study hall with music luring their practice sessions. Sometimes it was rather off key but with the able super- vision.dfRonald Moyer improved quite notably for the programs we presented during the year. Not all the students pictured above are members of the Sharon Club but are members of one of the neighbor- ing groups. Each year members have won many honors at the County and State. This year De Launa and Anita Keith made the trip to the American Royal at Kansas City. The club has. worked hard to achieve their goals. Projects for the club are to paint mailboxes of the Sharon community and erect a sign welcom- ing people to our town. On The Outside Day in and day out during the past year, our cooks, Mrs. Winifred Robin- son, Mrs. Maude Smith, and Mrs. Grace Hall, prepared delicious meals for us at the kitchen. 1 On The Inside The faithful and well-known janitors in our school are Buck Swonger, and his two sons, Jack and Bucky. Many laboring hours of enduring work have been spent by them cleaning black- boards, scrubbing up foot tracks, and shoveling coal. With a league record of h won - I4 lost we finished behind Hazelton and Isabel. AS the yearbook goes to press, we are expecting to win over Hazelton for the district championship. We will be depend- ing on Simon, Rowe, Inslee, Harbison, Owen, Basinger, and Laudick to carry us on to victory in the regional tournament. As the yearbook goes to press they have a 6 won - l lost league record.
