SENIOR 4 H ACHIEVEMENT REPORT The Sharon Semor 4 H Club organized October Z 1948 with ZZ members The following officers were elected President Donald Elmore Vice President Garland Taylor Secretary Peggy Steele Song Leader Norma Lee Taylor Pianist Alma Young and Game Leader Marvin Rinner Donald Elmore was chosen to represent Woodward County in the boys health contest at Stillwater where he placed in the blue ribbon class which entitled him to enter the state contest at Oklahoma Cnty he placed third at Oklahoma City State Fair Donald Elmore was on the Woodward County judging team which went to Oklahoma City Goodwell Enid Angus Field Day Stillwater El Reno and Governor Turner s Ranch to do judging The group placed several firsts on these trips Janet Baker and Twyla Salisbury attended Oklahoma 4 H Club Roundup at Stillwater with their clothing demon stration and placed in the blue ribbon class Janet also entered the girls health contest Twyla Salisbury and Cecilia Loch placed 8th on a dairy foods demonstration from a group of 50 teams demonstration at the Enid Dairy Show Janet placed 8th on an mdividual dairy demonstration from a group of 40 Norma Lee Taylor Dor1ne McCracken Donald Elmore and Cec1l1a Loch won trips to Oklahoma City State Fair Donald placed first with his judglng team on livestock Cecilia placed first on nutrition judglng Dor1ne placed third in judging home improvements The girls home improvement and clothing articles chosen to go to the state fair were Cecilia Loch s dress Janet Baker s vanity set Twyla Salisbury s pajamas and Dor1ne McCracken s emergency meal Donald Elmore s white kafir placed first at the state fair The record books chosen to go to Stillwater were Donald Elmore s Janet Baker s Norma Lee Taylor s and Dor1ne McCracken s Those who were in the blue ribbon class at the county dress revue were Alma Young Norma Lee Taylor Dorme McCracken Twyla Salisbury Carol Thomas Peggy Steele and Cecilia Loch Janet Baker won reserve grand champion on her dress Winners from the rally on demonstration and timely topics were Janet Baker and Twyla Salisbury first on a team demonstration which won a trip to Stillwater Norma Lee Taylor placed second on an individual demonstration and second on a timely topic The total numbers of ribbons won by our club at the county fair were 30 firsts, 17 seconds, 7 thirds and several others on the different projects The ribbons won on the record books were Z firsts 3 seconds, 1 third and others We received a grade of 98 on the secretary s book and placed second on our booth The High School Club won S10 00 and the Grade Club won S7 50 Dor1ne McCracken entered the special bedroom project and won first at the fair Several of the girls assisted Miss Shierman and Mr Edmondson at the county fair The girls chosen as Junior leaders were Norma Lee Taylor Janet Baker Cecilia Loch Twyla Salisbury Dorme McCracken and Peggy Steele In our county 4 H Organization Donald Elmore was elected President and Norma Lee Taylor elected Vice President Our total income for the past year amounted to S729 95 S99 95 of this was won at the county and state fair S630 00 was taken in by the boys on their livestock The Sharon Semor Club met regular with most members present and carried a ful program throughout the year All boys and girls are enrolled in projects and doing splendid work this year For bemg the outstanding club in the county in 1948 49, and achieving the most, the Kiwanis favored us with a banquet and presented us with the Kiwanis 4 H Club Plaque We could not have achieved this splendid record without the help of our parents, our county agents, and our coach, Mrs. Doughty: and at this time, we want to say THANK YOU for your wonderful help. 36 . - . . . . . . . . .. . - D 1 ' I I l I..
