SHARON 4 H CLUB On October 3 1947 the club met eighth grade students and hugh school members together as we had been meeting but at the next meet ing our new coach Mrs Edan Myers met with us for thehrst time and divided our group into Grade and Senxor Clubs The grade club has thirty two members and Senxor Club has twenty one members Our first honor came with the Kiwanis Achievement Award of the Plaque on December 10 1947 We sent our officers to the presentation at the Baker Hotel banquet Then our coach took us to the radio Station KSIW where on the following Saturday Mr Edmonson presented fifteen minute broadcast in whxch we participated Mrs Myers took us to the Wrtghts Studw where photographs were made of the presentation Garland Taylor attended the American Royal Livestock Show at Kansas City in the fall of 1947 Donald Elmore won a S25 00 bond and a medal for achievement in livestock raising Norma Lee Taylor received a medal at the Federation meetung on Dorine McCracken received a medal also for Dairy Foods janet Baker was presented the Food Preparation medal Ceclha Loch was awarded a Gardening medal for achievement The Senior Club has the honor of having the county President who ns our own Presldent Donald Elmore Also the County Vice President is our Norma Lee Taylor Several of our club members have received commendation radxo station KSIW for exceptionally good work We have held several Perfect Meetings with a complete score The Grade Club has had exceptionally good interest and has a record book for every member A new feature was the servmg of refreshments at the close of the meetings the clubs taking turns A large number of members are preparing for participation in the big Rally Day Contests to be held April Z 1948 at which time Sharon will win new laurels and honors ' . l 1 ' 9 I s Q ' - . , . . , . . . . .
