Their ideas and methods were for the good of the whole student body. Their greatest project of the year was their organization of the Teen Time Dance. It was held for teenagers arranging from 8th grade up, and usually helped the students occupy their time every other Saturday night. The Shannon Student Council was also represented at the Chicago Student Council convention. Later on in the year when the students became restless because of the nice spring weather, the Student Council purchased three movies to brighten the school days. The opportunit of serving the school was a rewarding one for ll ofthe members and it gave them a real appreciation of government and all of its problems. Za- 7 The members of the journalism club had many opporttmities to keep their creative thinking and writing busy this year. The club had one handicap, however, there was a shortage of members. Therefore, the fourteen loyal and hardworking members gave much of their time and themselves in order to have school articles in the Shannon Reporter every week. They also put out an Ea-Cry every six weeks. As a dividend for their efforts, they attended a Press Conference at DeKalb, Illinois. Beatrice Swalve and Lenore Van Matre are to be commended for the fine work they did as co-editors. Advisor ..... . Mr. Smith Co-Editors . . . .
