SE IIIH EL 55 HISTIJHY In the fall of 1949 a group of maudens and braves started thear lourney through Shanksvulle Stonycreek Hugh School We were separated into two trnbes Shvrley Gibson was chuef of one trube Beverly Baughman was chuef of the other trube During that year we participated In Band Chorus All County Band Dnstnct Band Cheerleadung F F A F H A and Junnor Varsnty basketball ln our Sophomore year we were united Into one tribe Shirley Gibson was chief We partlcl pated nn the same actuvutnes as the year before The bug hlghllght of the year was the orderung of our class rmgs ln our Jumor year Roy Boyd was chuef ln September we recerved our class rmgs Lorranne Walker and Irma Schmucker were cheerleaders Claur Musser and Verlyn Young were on the Var stty team Clalr Klmmel Roy Boyd and Kenton Donat were on the Junior Varsity Wayne Knehl was manager There were fourteen un the band and a large number an the chorus Shrrley Zerfoss and Kenton Donat represented us around the councnl fare Many mandens belonged to F H A and many braves belonged to F F A We pre sented a three act comedy 'Melody Madhouse, on May I and 2 and sponsored the Junuor Sensor Prom on May l6 We ended the year by sponsor :ng the school pucmc on the last day At the end of our lourney there were 29 of us left We chose Edward Onstead as our chnef Wayne Klehl as assrstant chnef Beverly Baughman as secretary and Roy Boyd as treasurer Claur Musser and Shlrley Zerfoss were selected to repre sent us at the Council fare Clanr was vnce presn dent ofthe Student Councul Durrng the course of the year we ordered and received name cards and commencement announcements and had our lndlvldual pictures taken We presented a three act comedy Beauty and the Beef an November Varrous members of our class were leaders an other orgamzatuons Shurley Gubson was edntor of the Vlklet and ofthe Chlcahonuan Edna Dupp stadt was presndent of the F H A and Dean Walker was president of the F F A A large number participated un band and chorus again We sponsored a skatrng party and chanced off a turkey at Thanksglvlng In the Sprung we all enloyed ourselves at the Junlor Sensor Prom Every one enyoyed humself on our fnnal class tnp to gether but was saddened by the thought of partlng Exghteen I . . , 1 1 . b I 1 1 1 ' 1 1 1 ' ' . . ., . . ., . . . . .
