This includes three attack squad- rons: VA-12 and VA-172 fly the A4-C Sky- hawk , VA-152 operates the newer A4-E. Piloting the F8-H Crusaders are fighter squadrons VF-111 and VF-162. Their mission is to protect the ship and the rest of the air wing from enemy aircraft. Detachment VFP-63 handles photo reconnaissance in the F8-G. Completing the air wing are VAW-121, the early warning radar detachment oil E1-B Willy Fudds g VAQ-129, which specializes in mid- air refuelings in the KA3-B Whales g and HC-2, the helicopter rescue crew of the UH2-B Seaspritef' rf VAN.
