Elma' le WI fa H55-IT. Donnieooclg Volume f FCDREWCDRD It is the desire of most yearbooks to express one central idea or the me. This year we have not selected a definite theme, but we have ende avor e d to record on these pages the events of this year. For many years we have only presented the favorites and extra-Curricular activities of our school. When we added an extra eight pages, we decided they should be de- voted to the courses and classes offered so as to give the c omplete picture of the life of a student in Shamrock High School. We, the members of the annual staff, have truly enjoyed pr epa ring this yearbook for you and we hope you will treasure this book as a diary of happy memories of 1957. TABLE GF CCDNTENTS ADMINISTRATICDN CLASSES FAVCDRITES SPCDRTS IR. HIGH I- V, :ss W W: Fo the Students and Teachers of Shamrock High: Embodied in the page s of this annual is the pictorial iistory of another good year in the Shamrock Schools. As we finish the year, I think we can be justly proud af the achievements that have been gained through an axcellent spirit of cooperation. fn lo oking to the future with thankfulness for a new lchool plant andimproved conditions of learning, each rf us, students and teachers, should dedicate our- selves to a higher plane of effort in the coming years. Jnly through proper planning and e ffo r t can we gain he satisfaction of a job-well-done. Fhe annual staff and their sponsor are to be congrat- Llated on another fine yearbook. It should serve as a xleasant reminder to all s tude nt s of the good years 'ou have spent in the Shamrock Schools. Yours sincerely, Kenneth M. Laycock Superintendent -fr May I express my appreciation to the s tudents and faculty of Shamrock High S c h o ol for your wonderful spirit of cooperation and loyalty Your hand work and many hours of planning and doing have made this school year 1956-57, a most successful and profitable one. Let us remember that no goal howeve r high, is impossible to reach if we allow our minds to work together and exert enough energy. At the square topped table In animated discussion Amid flying paper and loud Ideas Sits the sponsor, quite use to the clarnoring percussion. For nothing is unusual In this room where memories are preserved, Except when heavy eyes and tired hands make frantic work, To meet a deadline, then no limits are observed. At times like these the editor With hardly three minutes to spare Rushes out headlong Dodging cars, upsetting people, the deadline her only care. In this cluttered, oblong room The staff makes memories into pictures, So that as the years go by You will still remember every person, every picture, Yes, years from now when children laugh And giggle at the old fashioned look, You may pause to think back over youth That lies caught here in this Book.
