The Harvey Hotel was decorated traditional green and white, with landmarks of Route 66 to help the classmates cel- ebrate old times and make new memories. , Irishmen and lassies attend- ing were: Pauline tBaker7 Boswell, Bruce Barkley, Dewayne and Claudia Beaty, James Henderson, Tom and Dee Holmes, Katherine CKidwelll Burrell, Sharon CLawlerJ and Jimmy Pennington, Ann tRuffl and George Zochowski, Bill and Ruth Ryan, Patricia CSheltonJ Settle, Barbara tShe1woodJ and J.W. Strickland, Erma fStaggsJ Passons, Kenneth and Barbara CHughesD Wood, Billy Ray and Maylene Free, and Helen twalravenl Zook. Johnny and Nancy CBakerJ Hartwick shared the visit by phone from Ala- bama. The alumni were delighted by the surprise attendance of 1954 Principal Kenneth Laycock. Although he had dis- tributed diplomas in 1954, he threatened to revoke them at the reunion for any misbehav- ior. Due to Principal Laycock's continued guidance, hotel se- curity had to issue only one warning this year. - v-4 I .lr-all ll team go iDeeri hunting I.S.D. In the first game of the af- ternoon, White Deer took the ball on the 50 yard line and on their fourth play from scrim- mage, the visitors scooted around the end and into the end zone for a 3 1 yard touch- down. The extra pointrunwas good and Shamrock trailed 0-8 with 5:33 left to ,play in the seven minute quarter. White Deer took over the ball on downs at the 50 yard line and on the very first play, CK E R - 256-2153 Little Irish Football... the visitors raced 5 0 yards into the end zone for their second touchdown with 1:28 left in the first quarter. The pass for the extra points fell incomplete to give the visitors a 0-14 lead. With 2:04 left to play in the fourth quarter, Laramie Allen scooted around the left end and raced 41 yards into the end zone for a Shamrock touch- down. Drew Jernigan was stopped on his run for the ex- tra points and Shamrock trailed 6-14 on the scoreboard. After a great defensive stand by the Little Irish, the final buzzer and a fumble during their of- fensive possession, Kenton Satterwhite was forced to punt the ball away to the White Deer team. The visitors completed a pass down to the 20 yard line and picked up a first down on the seven. They passed com- plete again for a seven yard touchdown with 3:01 left in the first half of play. The run for the extra points was good to give them a 0-16 lead over Shamrock.
