Kay Nunn Paul Coope r Center Tackle Shamrock vs Dumas Shamrock vs Borger The fighting Irishmen were handed a 37-6 defeat by the Class AAAA Borger Bulldogs in a game which opened the new Borger football stadium. The Irish only touchdown came two seconds before the final gun when a pass from Beaty to Wood connected and Wood evaded the Borger secondary to journey to pay dirt. Dumas Was the first team to keep the green-and-white from crossing the goal line. In this 26-O encounter the Demons had complete control throughout the game.

Jack York Don Carlton Back Back Sham rock vs Quannah Shamrock vs Dalhart The Shamrock Irishmen, with only four days of training, had little trouble taming the Dalhart Wolves, Z0-7, in a game which officially opened the grid season for both clubs. The Irish fell before the Quanah Indians l9-7. The Irish scored early in the first play of the second quarter when the In- dians tied the score 7-7. The Indians completed a long pass, the last play of the first half, which netted another 6 points and the lead, which the Irish were never able to overcome.

The Blackhawks of l-AA battered a hustling, but outclassed Shamrock Irish, 44-7. ' The lrishmen battled the favored Perryton Rangers to a 13- 13 tie in a non-conference game which kept fans on either side thrilled from start to finish. I
