K . f?zz - I X 31 2' 5 f gmt jo ,gif if G A 'Wa I Class History ln September T943 a small group started on a long road of educatron Through this lourney we have met many who have remarned wrth us for a time and then have gone on therr way Our frrst and second grade teacher was Mrss Eula Butler Without her we would have been lost rn thus strange land of Readrn Rlten and Rrthmetrc We gathered new members along the way They were Lawrence Terrell and Lawrence Matherly Mrss Elsre Haught took over our group of travelers rn the thurd and fourth grades We were very happy to have a teacher so patrent and understandrng as she ln the thrrd grade Barbara Campbell entered the class Two travelers Tommy Endtcott and Ronald Moore loaned our group rn the fourth grade After many good trmes In the thrrd and fourth we frnally reached the fufth grade Mrs Smlth was our very able teacher and we enloyed her classes very much Wrth her help we conquered many of the drfflcult problems of arrthmetrc We were happy to welcome Jean McConnell as one of our travelers The next year found us In the srxth grade Mrs Beula Hathaway took over our band of travelers and two new members Gene lvan Harrrngton and James Warnock We gained no new students rn the seventh and erghth grades but we had quite a few teachers namely Mr Ray Carney Mr Dan Doss Mrss Betty Scott Mr Lloyd Krober and Mr Harold Hughes all of whom were erghth grade Hooraylll we frnally made at to hugh school Wuth Mass Marguerlte Wrllrams CMrs Art Shellyl as our sponsor we really enpoyed thus year and took part rn all the school actlvrtres lncrdentally we won the Carnrval kung and queen race that year As sophomores we chose as our sponsor Mrs Ellen Sherrlll who rs stall wrth us We trred varrous means of makrng money that year one berng a paper drrve We regret that we lost Jean McConnell thus year We were very busy our lumor year grvrng the Junror play whrch Mrs Sherrrll sponsored We ran the Snack Bar at our home basketball games to rarse money so we could grve the sensors a nrce banquet We selected a Star lrght theme usrng blue and srlver as the colors On thus last part of our tourney we are frnrshrng hugh school Here we are glad to welcome back Sonny Larrd who had been a member of our class durrng grade school years We regret that we had to gave up one of our classmates James Warnock who moved to County Lune Oklahoma Now we must face the future each going hrs separate way but never forgettrng our good trmes and our many frrends and teachers We now want to say Good bye to Shamrock School , , . , . , , .
