Rayburn Miller inspects his rank of the band and leads them in a musical selection. New sounds and tunes were heard from the Shaler High Band during the 1957-1958 year. Under the direction of Mr. Myers, the band performed for the football games at half time throughout the season. Together with the major- ettes, the hand arranged several clever and original programs. In addition to the football games, the band participated in two hand festivals, one in VVest View, the other in Vlilkinslviirg. During the summer the hand has extensive practice sessions at band camp. Here they plan numbers for future events. A Junior High Band has been formed by Mr. Senior members of the band are: Frfulf Rwrvf john Morz, june Thomas, Carolyn Edstrom. Pat Cox. john Millcrg Rott' 2: Harry Doershacker, jane Mickley. Anne Swetnam, Marlene Roesch, Pat Gardner, Rayburn Miller. The Shaler band forms a piano during the salute to the Dorsey Brothers at the North Allegheny game. Myers to play for the Junior High activities. This band is made up of seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students. The band concert, which was held in the spring, gave parents and friends an opportunity to hear our concert band. 16
