H chanical and electrical appliances found in the home. Mr. Campbell, in Home Mechanics Club. teaches the senior high girls how to repair a broken stove, refrigerator or wall clock. These homemakers will soon be the handyman of their future homes. A requirement of the -lunior High girls is the subject of home economics. General in- structions in homemaking are being given to the girls in grades 7-9 by Hrs. Kradel. The young ladies are taught precision marketing. and correct ways to plan. prepare. and serve appetizing meals. A unit is included in the course on blending of colors and home fur- and wear suitable clothing, aids the girls to look nishings. Learning to buy. to care for. their best at all times. ln the Senior lligh this is an elective and credited course. The subjects this course includes are: interior deco- rating, foods. family relationship. homemak- ing, first aid and home nursing. Mrs. Pink takes some of her pupils to the Thorofare at least three times each year. There they learn to purchase the freshest vegetables and choicest cuts of meats. Yery often classes prepare a luncheon and invite teachers in to taste their cooking. The course includes, among many girls the other things. a unit on sewing. The each make one outfit which they show ladies of the township every spring in the fashion show that they produce. lt is a gala affair with mood music to accompany each new outfit. The girls will always be dressed in the best fashions. r S 1 ' a Pat Walker and Mary Ann Chinn take a fresh pie out of the oven, while Carol Ward and Nancy Normand mix ingredients Elaine Rodman and Linda Pieffer pin, while Joanne Burton and Barbara Ford work at sewing machines in seventh grade for another. sewing class. 25
