As stately and as lovely As the lilies of old France, The perfumed, powdered ladies And debonair gallants Tread measuredly the dance. On the busy highway So set apart it seems, Sheltering its ancient logs Harboring its dreams, Like an old medallion In silver moonlight set, The place where lovely Julia lived, Who danced with Lafayette! pRuth jejery. 'Historical Note:- The locale of the poem is the home of julia Wakefield situated on Route 8. She was one of the favored few who had the much coveted honor of dancing with General, the Marquis de Lafayette on his triumphant visit to Pittsburgh in 1825. Hollihan converted for the extra point Shaler - Brentwoqd A hard-driving Shaler team fought through three scoreless quarters. Finally, with only 3 minutes to play, the Huskies threw a pass-Diettinger to Kahn, in the end zone- for a touchdown. Shaler - Shadyside Academy In the second quarter, the Huskies intercepted one of Shadyside's aerials, with Kahn picking up a fumble and running it to the 20. Kmeciak then went off tackle for a touchdown. In the 3rd period, Kmeciak scored on the same play. Shaler - Bellevue After a deadlocked game, Hollihan scored from the 5, going through a host of Bellevue men. At the beginning of the second half, a pass from Kmeciak to Kahn put the Huskies ahead. Bellevue was stopped for four straight plays on the one-foot line. Shaler - Sharpsburg ' The Shaler team started things rolling in the first quarter with Hollihan scoring from the one. Shaler marched again, with Diettenger going off-tackle for another score. Hollihan then went on a cross-buck for 65 yards for a touchdown. Then Shaler came back at the half, scoring again, with Diettenger toting the pigskin. Shaler - Millvale The Shaler Huskies invaded Millvale on a cold Armistice Day night. The first quarter was a deadlock but in the second quarter Shaler marched 75 yards with Hollihan scoring from the one and converting. Later in the fourthvquarter Hollihan again went over missing the extra point, Shaler winning 13-0 and defeating i Millvale for the first time in 6 years.
