E fx QA Dru Major and Majorettes Close- Up of Our Band Band From Afar Cheer Leaders

Page 32 text:

lsn't this attractive? As someone said, 'LA pretty girl is like a melody , and you can't doubt it now. These are some of our outstanding morale builders, the drum majorettes and their drum major, John Fleming. Majorettes pictured are: Sally Hezlep, Ruth Klosky, jean Moury, Hermena VVait, Marjorie jones, Dorothy Carpenter, Joyce Masur. 6 W4 Un VVe know how to keep morale, too, Uncle Sam, and to keep in the marching mood. This is our band in new uniforms. From their grand appearance, you can understand Why We are so proud of them and their efforts to rouse our spirits. Mr. Smink keeps them stepping, too. Smilin' 7f12wu9fn Another view of the band taken from afar, but you can still see why we cheer them. You'll have to admit too, that their excellent marching will stand thcm in good stead when they become members of the fighting forces. ww, ,Irma JW Our cheerleaders, as you probably suspect, help us to gain victory in football and in basketball, and in any other endeavor, so here they are in aetion on the field. I mean they are all set. I guess they have plenty of fun, and most of all, exercise. Again, these are keeping physically fit. The girls seem to have the idea in this group more than the boys. Do you sup- pose they are future VVAACS, VVAVES, or SPARS? Maybe, that's looking ahead pretty far, but their watchword is preparedness and they have plenty of reason to smile and hold their heads high. 32 M
