Jm CAs- Three non-conference games preceded the regular conference battles- against Berea, Garfield Heights, and John Adams. The first started Off with a bad scare for Shaker when Berea piled up I3 points in the Hrst quarter to none for the home team. However, a fighting spirit that came to the fore often during the season, showed exactly how tough Shaker was going to be and the teams walked off the field at the end of the afternoon with Shaker the victors- 25-l 3. Determined not to allow another team to come so close to winning, the Red and White turned back Garfield, a team they had held to a scoreless tie the year before, 19 to 6. Jack Nathan's educated toe was largely responsible for the victory. l9l
