Fahsbender Mr. Dan Bledsoe Shatter, California Pontiac, Illinois Los Angeles, California B.S., University ot Southern B.S., Illinois State Normal University B.S., Nevada University California M.S., Illinois State Normal University M.A., George Washington Algebra, Trigonometry Algebra, Plane Geometry University Athletics Counseling, Chemistry Ray Villalvazo, Richard Lytle, Victor Smith, and Maraget Freedman produce a vacuum in a Bell iar during physics experiments. 28 With space travel now a reality, the public's greater interest in science and mathematics was much in evidence this year. Shatter High School students were given the opportunity ot participation in a science tair sponsored by Bakerstield College in co- operation with the Kern County oil industry. A second class in chemistry was added to the science department otterinqs, which also include physics and biology. ln mathematics, advanced classes were accelerated so that students could progress at their own rate. Several students completed the high school course ot study and were working in college mathematics. Courses include algebra, plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
