The guidance program involves a slaff of six counselors. Mr. Bledsoe is dean of boys, direclor of alhlelics and direclor of counselors and guidance: Mrs. Cornell is dean of girls, and is in charge of honors and awards, C.S.F. and honor roll, and along wilh Mr. Murfin, is in charge of senior programing and graduarion eligibilily. Mr. Murlin is also Ex- Board adviser and in charge of mililary obligalions and service. Olher iobs of fhe counselors performed by Mr. Corrie, Mr. Foreman and Mrs. Marlin are keeping personal 'folders on each sludenl and permanenl records, cumulalive records and 'rranscripl records, Mr. Foreman helps c freshman enroll. School lloctor, orse Protect Student Health A tull-time health program for every student is one ot the important services at Shatter l-ligh School. Beginning with a physical examination tor entering freshmen, the program tollows the student with regular checlc-ups and special care throughout his tour years. The health department is in the hands ot Mrs. Selma March, nurse. and Dr. Harold Freedman. Mrs. March administers tirst aid and supervises a resting place tor students who are ill. She is also available tor home calls when it is considered advisable. She administers hearing tests and eyesight examinations and works with the counselors on special student health problems. Dr. Freedman is in charge ot giving physicals tor sports and checks on the health ot the students while in school. He also makes recommendations on students to be sent home tor illness and must approve all students coming baclc to school after having a communicable disease. Dr. Freedman checks student's hearing. Mrs. March looks over a health record. I9
