We've played an important role in ath- letics, scholastic activities, and dramatics. We put on a Box Social and the Junior- Senior prom and banquet-all brilliantly successful. When next year is mentioned, we smile a wise smile. for we know that then we shall eclipse all the other efforts of all the pre- ceeding' classes. ht D lle Wlec 1 1OXR lelt lldllll bettx Le Juke Mfugalet C O61 tzen Helen C1 hl1zo1beth D'1n 1 ls Pled XIcQu1Nte Nllddlelov. Q30 :Tr R ,bei N We, the successful confident Sophomores, sta1'ted the year out with a bang by giving the Freshmen a welcoming party. In fact we did our utmost to make the first few weeks of school as uncomfortable for them as possible. This, we discovered was a rather pleasant job. The true spirit of our class is typified by our two vivacious Student Body yell lead- ers. Our next year as upper classmen will only make it more self-evident that Shafter High couldn't get along without us. Twp rum' left tf right: ii0VV2ll'l'i I' xi 5 s, Ch-me Pvters. Snoops, diary's, editorials, and front page news were written and printed for the edification of the students. Colorful staff members like Foneta and Wayne Heffley who argued with the gusto of veterans added interest to the staff. Under the direction of Editor Senn and Advisor O'Brien, plus the com- petent work of the staff the paper flourished this year. This active organization was in charge of all the pep rallies this year. and we really had some nov- elty ideas on the program. They also sponsored a talent show which aroused much enthu- siasni and talk around the campus. Invitations were sent to all the clubs to perform on the program. With the help of Advisor Clark and President Janzen much was accomplished by this active club. C. S. F. The main function of the 'brainstorni organization this year was heading the March Dimes. They really used their so-called intellect and the drive went over 10099. The two inductions were successful, thanks to the Dahl brothers, and brain power was increased by each one. ljnder the capable direction of Advisor Mrs. Cornell and President Joe Wiebe, the brain trusts entered the talent show in full glory to top the events of the year. ff N' The brain storms. .....-'fb rl: TWO-94 Advanced Czunpfire Girls l ookxx o1n1s HORIZON CLUB Aftel 1 1J811OCl of lIldCt1VltX the HOTIZOH Club 1eo1gan1zed thlq xear Thls ff1oup xx IS 1QSp0I'lS1bl9 fo1 the hwhlx suc C69SfLllJuI1101 Ped Cross duve Thex also sponsoled a noon dance for xx hlch the ddlll1SBl0H puce xx as anx 1ec1eat1onal 211 tlcle These xxe1e sent to the club 1001118 of SQIVICG Ofloups Thls club plomoted the contest for -Xmeucan Ped Closs Cont11 butlons Yes these ffnls lQ1llX 1ch1eved much unde1 the able duectxon of AdV1S01 'Nhss Clark 1nd Plesldent Neva llelslex LIBRARY CLUB lhe Lllll lll Club 1s 1 lell se1x1ce organxmtlon 1s It 18 due to the tueless effolts of these lll8llllJQ1S th lt ou1 school llljl lll functions so smoothlx Cllllb and glxtlll deflnlte lNNlf nments lob llexlln Dl6,N1fl6I1t du11n the t1ll semeste1 xx IS lesponslble for the fust soclal exent 1 t1e lNUl6 hunt I whel I 1x took oxe1 thxs offrce fOl the second semester and at the tnne thx xxent to punt she xx ls pl 1nn1n U1 lntelestlnf c1lend11 of dCt1Xlt1QS lhe t lCt th 1t thrs f 1oup doubled then membelshlp th1s X611 15 1 fan example of the uccess of the club undel the UL11dlIlCL of Nllss Ie1pm1n I 1 W - . l . 2 ' , - j 'K tv wi If D 1 we L1 . .
