There were new teachers in the Home Economics, Music and Physical Education Departments. ln our crowded conditions this year patience and understanding were necessary between faculty members and the entire student body. This year's faculty was co-operative and en- couraging. The teachers instilled a desire for good citizenship and respect for our fellow students in each of our classrooms. Their en- thusiasm for scholarship, good sportsman- ship, and fair play produced an atmosphere that entered into the activities planned and carried on by the students of Shadyside High. The Council mei in fepees fall 0ur Futures fo decide Our Shadyside Council is the guiding light for our tribe. Their leadership helps show the right path to follow. When a ques- tion arises we can always depend on the wis- dom and understanding of the council. With a firm hand of guidance they help us blaze the trail and clear the obstacles in our path. This year the Board of Education has pro- moted a project providing for o more ade- quate school system. The citizens of our local school district are to be commended for pass- ing the Bond Issue when they voted on No- vember 2. The provisions of the Bond Issue are as follows: The remodeling of the present high school building and the construction of a new addition. An addition to the Mead ele- mentary school. Conversion ct three class- rooms into a gymnasium, cafeteria, and Ii- lorary in the Central Avenue elementary school. Construction of a modern twelve room elementary schooi.
