HIGH SCHOOL VIRGINIA Editor: Mary Maddy Business Manager: John Eagle Sponsor: Mrs. Barbara Fox ALMA MATER In the hills of West Virginia There's a school I love. May it always burn in memory Blessed by God above. Here’s a toast to Shady High School From the young and old: Hail to thee our Alma Mater Hail Blue and Gold! CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY SENIORS CLASSES ATHLETICS ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVITIES FAVORITES ADVERTISERS 3 DEDICATED TO YOU By dedicating out edition of TheSpring” to you, we hope to express our thanks for the fine job you have been doing. We, the Senior Class of 1966, dedicate our yearbook, The Spring” to Mrs. Edith Okes. You have helped us in many ways from the time we entered Shady High as Freshmen; and, for this we are grateful. Without your efficient work our clubs would not have an accurate rec- ord of their funds, letters concerning our school would not be typed and mailed, and teachers would not be given vital information, and we would not receive our mimeographed tests. We realize it requires patience to listen to a ring- ing telephone, contact pupils and change dollar bills all at the same time, but you have done an excellent job. Six years as secretary at Shady Spring High School In addition to your work at school we know that you are an active church member where you teach a Sunday School class, and in your spare time you enjoy redecorating your home and drawing. 5 BACK ROW: Cousi CENTER: Grace FRONT ROW: Br Fritz and othi n Annie and Annewien John Wieringa er Gysjan and cousin icall Beaver, August 1965 land in June ANN WIERI Exchange Wieringa was born in on February 13, 1948. S. H. S. We would like to express our appreciation to various people for their help, for without them there would not have been a 1966 Spring. First was Mr. C. J. Richardson, representative of Taylor Publishing Com- pany, who told us all the particulars before we even started. Next were the advertisers and boosters who gave us their financial aid. To Mr. Jack Richmond we are especially thankful, for without his help in taking and developing pictures, there would be very few appearing in this year- book. Fourth we want to thank the administration and faculty for allowing us to skip classes so we could meet those deadlines. And finally, to the students we say Thanks for answering our questions and posing for the pictures. We hope you like your annual.
