oreuuon j We, the senior class of I960 leave our beloved Shady Spring High School this May. As we leave, the fond memories of our principal, teachers, and many friendships will always be uppermost in our minds. So we challenge you, the under- classmen, to hold high the torch of learning and of truth to the honor of our Alma Mater, Shady Spring High School. May your high school years be as rewarding and fruitful as ours. THE SENIOR CLASS, I960.

Sbedi tea Mr. William Fourney We, the senior class of Shady Spring High School wish to dedicate the I960 edition of THE SPRING to Mr. Fourney our beloved custodian. Mr. Fourney in the five years he has been custodian of our school has given us much help and encouragement. Not only has he kept the school warm and clean, but through him we have seen an example of a happy, friendly, and very helpful man. Mr. Fourney always has a smile, a joke, and a good laugh for everyone and is always ready to lend a helping hand to any project in the school. Giving change at noon, ordering flowers for school affairs, and taking sick students home are just a few of the extra little jobs that he does for us. All the extra things Mr. Fourney does for our school, he does because he is one who does not always put self first. In many ways he is a shining example for all of us. After this year, Mr. Fourney will no longer be with us, but will be retired. His services to our school are greatly appreciated just as they will be greatly missed when he is no longer here. It is our hope that this dedication will amply show our appreciation to Mr. William Fourney, custodian of Shady Spring High School Page 5
