This picture of the faculty of Shady Side Academy represents a departure from the conventional picture- copy format. The editors felt that there were values in posing the faculty informally as a whole group and then dividing the group into teaching areas or depart- ments as much as possible. We realize that there will be new faces in the faculty group next year as some of the senior members retire and some of the younger members go on to advanced situations in education. This, it would seem, adds value to Staff Photographer Knepper's unusual picture.
