Cl'Yl.:ezQ ' : During the school year just completed, Shady Side has undergone ' K1 a long and involved process of self-evaluation climaxed by the bla visit to the campus of a committee of educat r o s . From finances to classes, from buildings to food, the evaluators for three days went over the school with a fine-toothed comb to determine how well the school succeeds in meeting its aims . In 1952, a year of evaluation, it seems appropriate, therefore, to have the ACADEMIAN show what is being done to realize the aims of the Academy. That the maior purpose of the school is to carry out the process of turning an elementary school graduate -7-2 into a college freshman rg is rather obvious when one knows that S Shady Side is, and has been for 69 years, a college preparatory school . The process isa long one, an expensive Q6 one , a complex one , involving many activities in and out of the classroom .
