For the past twenty-seven years Mr. Innes has been an outstanding member of the English department. From behind the scarred oak desk in Room 10, littered with assorted text- books and theme papers, one can always expect sound advice and reasonable deduction to burst forth. Mr. Innes' friendly good humor and discreet judgment are ever-present in his deal- ings with the students of the school. As Assistant Headmaster he handles administrative problems and difficulties which arise every year in the senior class concerning choice of college. He takes a personal interest in all his work with the boys, and those who have been in his classes realize the thoroughness of his teaching. We, the Class of 1947, in part payment for the debt of gratitude we owe to Mr. lnnes, respectfully dedicate this volume of the Academian to him.
