“William Ira Adleman, '32, was killed in action on Decem- ber lO, 1944, in the Pacific when Japanese planes attacked his P.T. boat. Before his death he had served as commander of a torpedo boat for three months. Lt. Charles Francis Arrott, '33, a member of the U.S. Army Air Forces was killed in an airplane accident over South America. Ensign John Doane Atwood, '39, was an officer aboard the submarine Corvina which is presumed lost. Lt. David S. Alter, '36, was a member of the U. S. Army Air Forces. He was killed when the bomber he was flying crashed in an oil storage tank. Ensign John B. Bauer, '33, died in the Boston nig fmt club fire of November 28, 1942. Air Cadet William R. Blair Ill, '37, died in an airplane training accident. Lt. Lloyd L. Schaffer Boor, '38, Army Air Forces, was killed in an airplane accident. Lt. Ruud R. Brill, '39, died in a mid-air collision near Man- Zanillo Point, Panama on Oc- tober 9, 1944. Signalman James F. Burke Il, '41, was killed at Salerno, ltaly, when the boat he was on was hit by German fire. Lt. William R. Cameron, Jr.. '37, a member of the U.S. Navy, died in action on No- vember 24. 1943, when the Liscomb Bay was sunk by the Japanese during the battle for the Gilbert Islands. 1 'x 1 Zlaunur ull 'Now Lists Z6 Lt. Philip S. Chess, Jr., was killed while fighting on the ltalian front. Lt. James McCutcheon Curry was killed at Tunesia. Lt. William Flinn II, '35, was killed in France on October 5, 1944. Pfc. Pennypacker Griffen, '41, was killed in action near St. Vith, Belgium on January 15, 1945, while serving with the First Army. Lt. William I. Harvey ll, '42, was killed in France on August 21, 1944, while lead- ing an armored detachment. Private Alfred D. Hatten- bach, '42, a member of the Army Air Forces, died in an airplane accident in the Aleu- tians. Lt. Charles F. Hosford Ill, '36, was killed in a bomber crash. Lt. Frank W. Jackson, Jr., '33, died in action near Trier, Germany on March 5. 1945. James P. O. Lyle, '34, a Lieutenant in the Naval Air Corps was killed when the plane he was flying crashed in San Diego, California on April 6, 1945. Lt. Lyle had served in the South Pacific for sixteen months and received the Dis- tinguished Flying Cross for valor in the battle of Midway. Pfc. Eugene Murray, Jr., '31, died on August 10, 1944, of wounds suffered while fight- ing in France. Pfc. Stephen A. Reuter, '41, was killed in the Hghting in central France. He lost his life during an infantry attack on a German stronghold near Metz on November 15, 1944. Lt. Robert J. Russell, '39, died in a prison camp in the Philippines in May, 1943. Lt. Lawrence Nelson Succop, '35, died in New Guinea. Lt. Robert S. Smith, '39, was killed in the fighting in France on August 1, 1944. James D. Spear, '36, was killed in England on December 23, 1944. Lt. Kemble White, Jr., '35, was killed in a plane crash on May 23, 1944, in the Pacific area.
