glad! .Hid iory As we look back over the past l2 years, we can recall many things that we have enjoyed. We have had a few ups and downs but now we want to look on the bright side and forget this. We entered the eight grade with Mr. Martin as our home room teacher . He taught the first sernesterf Seems as if we can still hear hirri saying, straighten up and fly right. Then Mr. Ferbee took his place and taught the next semester. Next is the year in which we all longed.for. The year that we would be in high school. The idea brought many thrills to our minds. My! What nerve those teachers had as they would chase those boys around the room trying to take spit wads and rubber bands away from them. Mr. Parker was our home room teacher in the tenth grade. How we en- joyed being in his class. Especially that certain little bunch of gigglers. Then we remember the Valentine party we had on Valentines' Day. Many games were played and refreshments were enjoyed. We next appear on the scene as Juniors. Miss Speas was our home room teacher. Also our History and Home Economic teacher. We were glad we could take Home Economics since this was our first year of it. We looked forward to working in our new department, but it wasn't finished as soon as we would have liked for it to have been. Then we would not forget the fun at the Halloween Carnivals. Waiting to hear the exciting news of who would be croixmed King and Queen. One of the highlights of Junior year was the Junior- Senior Banquet held at the Y. W. C. A. in Winston-Salem Then the Seniors entertained us with a weiner roast at Biltmore Dairies. As a group of Seniors, we now have 18 in our class. What a busy time it is with all the different activities and parties! First, we were entertained at a hamburger fry at the Community Building in Advance. As seniors we also en- joyed working on the paper staff in helping to make it interesting. The thing that thrilled us most was the Senior and Queen being crovmed at the Halloween Carnival. This was the first time in the history of our school that the winning class had 5215. 20. We also had the best stunt. As class historian, Ihave enjoyed every year in school with the fellowship of my classmates. To those who will take our places, we say, Good luck as you go foreward. Joan Craver Historian
