Girls Leogue Promotes Mony Activities Fall Girls' League Officers for 1973 were Jean Conley-President, Wendie Luders- Vice President. Nora Carlson-Secretary, and Maureen McDowell-Treasurer. Elected last spring. they served during the first semester of school. During their time in office they sponsored the Big-Little Sister Con before school, started, which Q01 the new sophomore girls familiar with the various clubs and activities. Debbie Meir and Jolene Michelsen spoke at the Girls' State Con about their experiences at Girls' State. The Sadie Hawkins Dance was a great success with a vast participation in the costume contest. Other projects include the Dad-Daughter Dessert. a visit to Lakeland Village to take toys to the children and a Popcorn Ball sale in the commons before Christmas. Sporron Stott Uses Three Column Loyoul Above: Editor Tom Lathen is taken by surprise while explaining new techniques of the three column layouts to Monte Edwards. Below right: Bud Lindsey types up his final copy for his yearbook spread. The first day of school dawned clear. We met and kicked around ideas. Some old friends. some new faces. All of us with a common purpose-SPORRAN. We began our work and from the beginning we had problems. Shouts of Where the hecks a ruler. and yells of Tom, come quick! resounded through the halls from room 121. From rough drafts we watched a yearbook come to life. We've survived absences. sweat. tears, parties and even our deadlines. Our dreams slowly shaped into reality and we sat back and sighed. The past is gone. but in this book that you hold. a part of each of us remains forever. This year changes were numerous in yearbook, after Pete Vandervvegen left us for Aberdeen, we received a new advisor, Mr. Neil Dressler. We changed our layout style from focal point to three column style. Our cover changed from art work to a photograph. But we stuck with our same editor who we've had for the last two years.
