3 SPORRA Staff Sticks With Focal Point Layout No yearbook! Ridiculous! But that's what the decision at the end of last year was. But the money materialized and a class developed. and another vearbook was underway. Sporran '73 wasn't just any yearbook. Even though the whole staff was new except for two people, it was entered in the National Scholastic Press Association Contest. Despite the fact no school in Spokane had entered this competition for the last few years. Shadle's staff thought they could handle it. Following last year's example, the focal point layout technique was used because of the success it brought. Shadle's yearbook was used as a Northwest demonstrator for its layout format in 1972 73. At the start of the year l was terrified, as the year progressed I was just worried. When the year was finally over, I swore I would take math next year, says Editor, junior Tom Lathen. .4 ,W ,.
