Spirit Con Starts Highlander Week Opening Highlander Week last fall was the Hi-Student Day convocation featuring comic imitations of some of the usual, and not-so-usual, pranks of Hi-Lassie and Hi-Laddie days. On Hi- Teacher Day all of the teachers received corsages and boutonnieres from the students. Also, a Favorite teacher was voted for in homeroom, with Mr. Don Miller winning top honors. A spirit contest continued throughout the week with each homeroom decorating a window somewhere on the first floor. Homeroom 222 was awarded a prize at Friday's pep con. Featuring SUNDANCE, the Highland Fling wrapped up this spirit filled week. Highland Hills and Heather was the theme that the Pep Club chose for their annual mixer, held on Saturday of Highlander Week. Names of the friendliest boys and girls were announced at intermission. Patty Genova and Dan Ellis were chosen as the friendliest seniors. The friendliest juniors were Renee Marburger and Ron Brooks, and the friendliest girl and boy of the sophomore class were Rhonda Ridnour and Derick Soo. iFriendIiest pictures are by Dorian Studiol.
