l ASB Adopts Meeting Format Adopting a new format for A.S.B. meetings, President Paul Anderson filled the fall agenda with topics as Hi-lander Week: policies concerning married couples: and Hope Walk, which is held each year to raise money for the ship Hope and Big Brothers. Senior Cove, given to the student body last spring for a Student Lounge, was closed twice last fall by the A.S.B. because of damage to furniture, Because of students' failure to maintain the lounge, it was given back to the seniors for a Senior Cove. In turn, succeeding senior classes will furnish the Cove with new and sturdy furniture. Subject Orientation Day, which was started last year by the A.S.B. at the request of students, was continued for students who wanted to know more about subject offerings before semester registrations. Spirit Con Starts Highlander Week Opening Highlander Week last fall was the Hi-Student Day convocation featuring comic imitations of some of the usual, and not-so-usual, pranks of Hi-Lassie and Hi-Laddie days. On Hi- Teacher Day all of the teachers received corsages and boutonnieres from the students. Also, a Favorite teacher was voted for in homeroom, with Mr. Don Miller winning top honors. A spirit contest continued throughout the week with each homeroom decorating a window somewhere on the first floor. Homeroom 222 was awarded a prize at Friday's pep con. Featuring SUNDANCE, the Highland Fling wrapped up this spirit filled week. Highland Hills and Heather was the theme that the Pep Club chose for their annual mixer, held on Saturday of Highlander Week. Names of the friendliest boys and girls were announced at intermission. Patty Genova and Dan Ellis were chosen as the friendliest seniors. The friendliest juniors were Renee Marburger and Ron Brooks, and the friendliest girl and boy of the sophomore class were Rhonda Ridnour and Derick Soo. iFriendIiest pictures are by Dorian Studiol.
