Shades Valley’s library, headed by Mrs. Martha Cobb, provides them with a wide selection of literature. Mrs. Cobb, assisted by Mrs. Glenda Curvin, runs a well-organized and up-to-date library for both students and faculty. Working on term papers, outside reading and book reports, the students find the library most useful. In addition to books, the library has projectors, record players, tape recorders, and other educational materials. Supervision Of Building, Cafeteria Carries Responsibility JEFFERSON DAVIS A well-loved person around Shades Valley is Mr. Jeff Davis. Cutting the grass, maintaining operable school facilities, and supervising the rental of the auditorium are just a few of his many responsibilties. Mr. Davis devotion to Shades Valley has made him an indispensable figure in our school. Preparing food for 1400 students is a full time job. From 8:00 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon. Shades Valley's cafeteria staff is busy working. Home Economics Stresses Good Family Living RUTH BIHR Christian College. A.A. University of Missouri, 8.S. Cooking, Home Management Instructing students in the domestic arts of home mangement, cooking, and fashion design, the Home Economics Department gives students workable knowledge and experience in the many areas involved with running a home. Mrs. Bihr, head of this department, teaches classes in basic meal planning, table setting, and cooking, while Mrs. Whitt instructs in sewing. Mrs. Bihr is very proud of the fact that for the first time in many years, some of her classes include boys. The Home Economics Department prepares students to be efficient homemakers of the future.
