 Act well your part; there all the honor lies. Thespians Thespis, and ancient Greek, was the first dramatic actor . . . These words from the Thespian initiation ceremony explain the name and nature of the National Thespian Society, which fosters the advancement of dramatic arts in the high school. To become a member, a student must work for at least 100 hours in some phase of the theater: not only acting, but also crews, scenery, publicity and makeup.
