 Act well your part; there all the honor lies. Thespians Thespis, and ancient Greek, was the first dramatic actor . . . These words from the Thespian initiation ceremony explain the name and nature of the National Thespian Society, which fosters the advancement of dramatic arts in the high school. To become a member, a student must work for at least 100 hours in some phase of the theater: not only acting, but also crews, scenery, publicity and makeup. The Fine Arts Department gives us the opportunity to realize the inward satisfaction which comes from outward expression. This expression may take many forms: a poem read aloud, a lovely song, a vivid painting, or a piece of instrumental music beautifully executed.
