EDITOR: VIRGINIA McCAHAN MANAGER: LINDA HORNE SHADES VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA STARS IN CLASSROOMS Write I will not chew gum one hundred times in Spanish.   STARS IN SPORTS It's a bird, it's a plane. It’s an Anderson! Pep Rally STARS IN ACTIVITIES Miss Alabama 1959, Betty Lindstrom. graduate of Valley, receives roses from Billy Renneker while Dr. Peake observes. Howard College Vuriety SIk w 6 To Mrs. Dorothy Walker, whose patience and ability has inspired many students to seek a career in dramatics, we dedicate the I960 Tower. Mrs. Walker, who has been Shades Valley's dramatics teacher for several years, not only has encouraged those who have shown dramatic talent, but also has directed Valley’s finest productions. It is with admiration that we dedicate our annual to her. 7 IN MEMORIAM CAROL BREWTON was known and loved by ever)' student. Her spirit and loyalty will be remembered always. In her role as cheerleader, Carol gave her best for her school, and to all she represented the Spirit of Valley. FRANK TOMBRELLA for a few short months was a part of Valley and he will always be remembered by us. WILLIAM CLIFT served Valley as teacher and helper.
