ADVERTISEMENTS Now a word to our friends the advertisers who have so freely contmbuted to the financial help of our book We sincerely hope they will profit materially from ad vertising with THE OWL DEDICATED fo When we look back to our Junior High School days, we see that outstanding personality and teacher of Junior High English and sponsor of the Junior Y-Teens, MISS ALMA ROBINSON. She acquired her M.A. degree from Howard, where she majored in English. She also studied for a while at the University of Cincinnati. She is at all times a true teacher, inspiring students to grasp the splendor of beauty in literature and the facts of grammarg thus making learning a joyous ad- venture. Yet more than a teacher, she is a personality, giving inspiration to all who are privileged to sit in her classes or to work with her. So the 1948 Owl is glad of the opportunity to recognize this friend who has been a guiding light for all of us. 7 ' 'R Q It i iF...,,iif ii! ,sk Q tiki? 'Twas given you by other hands, you know, 'Tis yours to keep it burning bright: Yours to pass on, when you no more need light, For there are other feet that we must guide, And other forms go marching by our side. Their eyes are watching every tear and smile, And efforts which we think not worth while. Maybe, perhaps, the very things they needg Actions to which their soul will take most heed, So that in turn they'll hold it high and say, I saw another carry it, this way.
