SECOND ROW: Abbot Williams, Bill Knox, Fred Robert Dobbs, Sam Romano, Tommy Trotter, Grov- er White, David Shamburgcr, Jimmy Christian, Carl Bailey. Charles Herron tleft endl. Charlie, Cahaba's All County End, completed his third and final year in grand style both defensively and offensively. Moss Cowart. tquarterbackl. Bullet kept the enemy well back with his pitching and in addition ran that ball like a halfback being second high scorer. Moss's last year was a success. Connie Johnson fright endl. Con- nie showed up very Well in this, his last year. One of the finest de- fensive ends at Cahaba in a long time. When the chips were down Connie produced.

Bill Christian- sen tleft halfl. another of Caha- ba's All County men, really went to town in his fourth and final year being the county's third high scorer and high scorer of the Mounty team. Burt Stanford tcenterb. Burt made all County and all State. Burt was voted the most valuable player by his team mates. Since his playing here Burt has given an acreditable showing to Shades Cahaba. Bill Franke tright halfl. Elected to pilot the team by his mates, Bill did a very neat job although be- ing injured the first part of the season, he roared back in fine style. SECOND STRING FIRST ROW: Dick Smith, John Beauchamp, Ty Acton, Arthur McConnell, Albert Grundmann, Paul Billings, Harold Strozier. SECOND ROW: Frazier Patillo, Frank Selby, Billy Baker, Fletcher Allen.

Lawson Acton tfullbackl. Law- son kept those lines busted wide open to pave the way for first downs and con- tributed his bit to Cahaba's touch- down parade. Jack Edwards fright guardl. Jack was one of Cahaba's unsung heroes opening up holes for the backs the score through. Jack turned in a mighty good season as anyone will tell you. Denny Ward tfeft guardl. Denny, another one of the graduating seniors, came into Cahaba's lime- light his last year and teamed with Jack Edwards to give Cahaba as fine a pair of guards as any other school. PHILLIPS---CAHABA With the hard work of Coach Mitchell, Coach Murphy and the will of the boys The Mountaineers won over the highly favored Phillips team with a score of 21 to 7.
