Prophecy As my girl friend and l were casually strolling down the main street of Shadeland, Indiana, we happened to see a new beauty salon. Of course, we decided that we each needed a new permanent. We walked in, and whom do you spupose we met? None other than the famous beautician, Ruth Haynes. After we had chatted about the past, Ruth informed us that she was blissfully mdffigld furthermore, was blessed with adorable twin girls. Ruth then told us that Frank Goodman owned a music store around the corner and that Frank had become a great musician and salesman of musical in- struments. We then told Ruth that we would have to be on our way if we expected to see everyone. We stopped in at Goodman's Music Company and met Frank's secretary, Eva Jane McDowell. We were quite surprised to see her, since Ruth hadn't told us about her. She told us that Mr. Goodman was out to a business meeting and that he would be back any minute. Eva announced that though she was not yet married, she was engaged and would be married in the near future. Just as Eva finished telling us her life 's history, Frank came in and then she had to continue with her work. We went into Frank 's private office and chatted with him for awhlie. He then told us he was married and that he had two fine children, a boy and a girl. After we had bade Frank good-bye, we visited the school. While we were glancing over the teachers' chart, we noticed that two of our former upperclassmen were on the faculty of Shadeland School. They were Ruth Ann Peyton, now Mrs. Richard Brown, and Dick Giltner. Ruth Ann was teaching the first and second grades while Dick was teaching high sch? science. We talked with them for awhile about their teaching careers. As it was getting late, we hurriedly left to catch our plane for New York. When we landed in New York the next day at La Guardia Field, we discovered that Jim Mays was the Head Aeronautical Engineer at the airport. Much to our surprise Jim told us that he was still single with not a prospect in sight. We questioned Jim about Jack and he then told us that Jack owned the Cadillac Motor Sales 8: Service. After hearing about Jim 's career, we took a taxi to Jack May's place of business. Jack informed us that he was quite happily married, then he invited us to dinner that evening of June lO, 1965. Mrs. Jack Mays met us at the door. After dinner, as we were talking over the past, we happily learned that Alice Remsburg, now Mrs. Ronnie Long, was a star of the Metropo- litan Opera. Since she was currently playing in New York on Wednesday, we hastened to buy tickets to see her in Madame Flutterby After the opera, we went backstage to her dressing room and there found the glamorous Miss Remsburg as friendly and talkative as she always was in high school. Since one of our friends was sick, we went to the hospital to visit her and whom should we run into but Bonnie Riley. Bonnie told us that Mary Ann Roth and Sara Roche were also nurses in the same hospital and that Delores White also worked there as a stenographer. After visiting our friend, we talked with all the girls for a minute or two. Delores proudly showed us her lovely diamond which she had iust received the evening before from one ot the staff doctors at the hospital. We told the girls we didn't have much time, so we hurried back to our hotel. We were very much surprised to find when we went to pay our bill that Lester Nartin was manager of our hotel. Since we had to get up early the next morning to go to church, we retired early. After church we were talking to the minister, when we discovered that Donnie Graves was a missionary in Africa. 20
