Among these were four of the present seniors, Doris ,Egg - 'f,J' Shoemaker, Charles Stewart, Frank Cockrell, and lalter Hawkins. Their .Jil ' 15 Q' faithful and patient teacher was Miss Bauer. A 'i X ll . -4 ..5 Doris, Charles, Frank, and Walter started their first year together f '8'h A and kept on going upward. The first eight years they were joined by many 55335 others. These included Nellie O'Brien, Emma Hamilton, Betty lcDowell, A- lfa ? drain Hawk, Bill Rooze, and Robert McCarty. l I lhen we finally got to be freshmen, we really thought we were some- ,-.AL body, and green at that. Five new pupils joined us this year. Those were .5 , ,-4 Alice Byers, Herschel Byers, Bob Flack, Willard Burtsfield, and Don Laugh- ,,k , E , lin. Nellie O'Br1en withdrew to go to St. Francis. V.. , ,A r f. ,Q .V lost of our boys played basketball this year and that made us feel 'iff , that we were really getting old. V, l Our class officers this year were Pres., Robert McCarty, Vice Pres., 1.15 Q Charles Stewart, Sec. Trees., Bob Flack, Reporter, Betty lcDowell, and gag? Sponsor, lies Baxter. - -'f' .d' 'L K . Q Nellie O'Br1en rejoined us our sophomore year and we gained one new ,.., gn, pupil, lerle Stillions. Class officers were Pres., Robert McCarty, Vice wtf. ,1,,f Pres., Adrian Hawk, Secs Trees., Bob Flack, Reporter, Betty lcDowell, and 5 , Sponsor, llrs. Crew. M , fl' iv Our junior year was the most exciting. We won the county tourney , X , ,,,-' this year. Four of the first five boys on the team were members of our via V JW' class. These were Adrian Hawk, Robert llcCarty, Bob Flack, and Merle Stil- 1 kgji 'y' lions. Charles Copas, a sophomore, was one of the first five also. We . Q47 were very proud of all of them. Doris and Emma were the cheer leaders. ,Agp I S -ll, fflf' with the help of Miss Krichbaum, our sponsor, we entertained the sen- F,qfv -'Nga lore with a semi-formal dinner and dance at the school building on April WEE ', Qfk 26. Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves, even though a couple of us did Ng, 7 fy fall on the slick floor. llrs. Vance directed our play, Grandpa's Twin Sister, which we had a .dvd fine time in presenting. The proceeds from lt, 8152, also pleased us very -Ag ,I ,Ek much. 5123-2, i. . 1 '- ff,n Our Junior class officers were Pres., Charles Stewart, Vice Pres., WW' Merle Stillionsg Sec. Trees., Herschel Byers, and Reporter, Emma Hamilton. f24! zqqgu We are now nearing the end of our journey for we are seniors. Myrna fgfi' EIN' Leavitt and Anna lay Turner joined us this year which brings the 1948 'N I graduating class to the total of 18. Our class officers are Pres., Robert 1 3 R. 'A McCarty, V. Pres., Merle Stillionsg Sec. Trees., Adrian Hawk, Reporter, Don Laughlin, and Sponsor, lr. Vance. The final steps will be taken with the holding of commencement and baccalaureate exercises in lay.
