Matt Kruzich and Terri Staggs did a great job as toastmaster and toastmistress. Last year's toastmaster, Ron Zeiss, added a little spice to the evening by telling a few jokes. The nicely decorated gym really rocked. Almost everyone had a good time, especially if they had a date. At the end, everyone upheld the tradition of tearing all the streamers down. Everyone will always have and cherish the great memories of that night. The decorations for the 1982 Junior- Senior prom tool a lot of hard work but the end result was well worth it. The gym was covered with pastel streamers, overflowing with hand-made flowers. Murals of nature graced the walls of the gym, and a refreshing stream ran the length of the floor. The beautiful decorations of the gym added a special touch to the banquet and dance. Don Jellison, Mark Royer, David Coffin, Brad Schaffner, Paul Beatty. The Warriors had a good turn out with a lot of freshmen Y. . and good early effort. . The coach described the season as an uphill climb that gfgfrYa1ent1ne'Mark never reached the summit. The strength of the team should have benefitted from experience, speed, and many determined and dedicated players. Some of the outstanding players according to Coach Maske were Brian Draper, leading rusher and defensive player, Mark Royer, outstanding senior player, Don Jellison, most gutsy player, Larry Warren, injured a lot, but versitile, and David Coffin, versitile player. The most important thing is knowing what their responsibilities are and then making the necessary sacrifices to get the job done. Put this together with eleven individuals doing their job and a good team effort and success results. , Next year will be tough. Seymour is fighting seven years of losing. Nothing can change the past record, but they have a chance to change the future record. Seymour needs a group of young men willing to sacrifice and work hard. No matter what the record is, the men of Seymour's football team can make Seymour fans extremely proud. GIRL 'TR CK Row 1: Coach Plowman, Lori Brown, Beth Banks, Christine Palmer, Marsha Banks, Deana Butler, Rhonda Johnston, Sheila Gorden, Row 2: Marion Wells, Michelle Ballanger, Chris Whitney, Melinda Lucas, LeAnn Balius, Sherry Mattly, Marcia Archer. Row 3: Michelle Jellison, Kelli Banks, Stacy Vanderlinden, Mandy Albertson, Mollie Johnson, Cheryl Glenn, Sonya Elliott. Mr. Plowman is very happy with the number of girls who came out for track. All 17 girls who came out for track had good attitudes and worked very hard. For the first time, Mr. Plowman had them run longer distances than usual, and they did Well. Staci Vanderlinden, Marion Wells, Michelle Ballanger, Deana Butler all improved in their field events. Marcia Archer and Mandy Al- bertson scored the most points in the field events. He feels the track team did very good in the hurdles. Mollie Johnson im- proved her time in 110 meter hurdles and came only M second from qualify- ing for state. Sheila Gorden, Cheryl Glenn, Beth Banks, and Sonya Elliott also did very well. The girls who ran both individual and relay events include Marsha Banks, who ran 220's, and Christine Palmer who ran 1 mile, 440's, 220's, and 11O's and had done real Well. BYE-BYE BIRDIE The spring musical of the '81 school year was entitled Bye-Bye Birdie. A 36 member cast and crew found them- selves practicing far into the night to prepare for the show. When the finished product was viewed, they felt the late night hours were well worth it. The musical was about Conrad Birdie, a rock-n-roll singer who'd been drafted into the army, and the complications that arose when he was to give a young girl a last good-bye kiss. The production was filled with comedy, but also had its touching moments. Altogether, the magnificant performance impressed everyone. fi , aracters f A Y f f iB1f1'diQ'f Davis 2 Hugo . After several practices and changes in the cast, the stu- dents buckled down to serious work and gave a grand perfor- mance that was filled with humor and altogether enjoyable.
