JUNIORS The first bug event for the Juniors was the winning of first prize for their homecoming float Well Send Em Back to Cherry Picking Carol Wassenberg and Terry Laske were the Junlor representatives ln the homecoming court of honor The Harvest Hop was a money making prolect the Juniors sponsored to help defray the expenses of their Prom whxch was held on May 6 The lunlors worked hard and long to make it a success as the first Prom to be held in the new gymnasium Wally Beau and his orchestra provided excellent music for the evening In an atmosphere of dreamy must sea shells and sandy beach Many Juniors participated un sports among these were Donald Barth Donald Cornelius Donald Doersch Otto Goettel Roger Elck Philip Milburn Arthur Haas Donald Henn David Grunwaldt Roy Porter and Merton Sherman Three transfer students were added to the class this year They are George Preston Elizabeth Ward and Ed Zepnlck David Grunwaldt was elected Student Council Vice President and Betty Coonen received the po sntnon of State Student Council Secretary at the No vember l4th fall convention The class officers were President Steve Keune Vlce President Ralph Melchert Secretary Sh lby Spaude and Treasurer Donna Felauer Teachers who advused the group were Mrs Nlgl Mrs Jenkins Mr Halle and Mr Behrendt SOPHOMORES Serenade of the Bells was the theme carried out by the sophomore class for the annual Freshmen Sophomore Party held on the first day of October Each freshman had been invited through homerooms for this get acquainted evening The gym was gauly decorated with musical notes and bells to welcome the new students for dancing and games No one will ever forget the nationally known enter talnment presented Fifty sevens own Chordettes and Crew Cuts This party was held one week after Freshman lnvltatlon the sophomores launched their actnvutles early Homecoming found Janet Landwehr and Ken Maass representing the class In the Court of Honor Well Snap the Clippers found Itself receiving second place rn the float dlvuslon Everyone feared Jerome Stlngle would never be the same since it was his head between the scissor blades on the float Jerry Hrll Larry Rohloff Ken Maass Neal Kroll Gale Wandke Jlm Lotter and Jerry Kissinger were some of the sophomores who showed their abnlutues an sports Pat Brooks became an A team cheerlead er Judy Kollath Bonnie Van Straten Shirley Barth and others were active ID the music department A special long range plan is sponsored by the Class of i957 In order to go on a senior trip they have started a special fund for It This year found them sponsoring a movie at Black Creek and a spring dance to make money for this trip President Ken Maass led the class with the help of Vice President Jerry Hall Secretary Kathleen Landwehr and Treasurer Laverne Bubolz Miss Haderlern Miss Wormwood Mr Weaver and Mr Schnlleman were the class advisors FRESHMEN The largest of all classes as the Freshmen They made their debut on Inltration Day as the gurls wore overalls back to front and cucumbers around their necks The boys were decked out In short skirts and lipstick Bruce Fassbender and Jane Wassenberg were the homecoming candidates and represented their class well The float entered In competition was titled Well Give the Clippers One Point' Penny Burns Marlene Krrzek and Patsy Van Strat en led the cheers for the B squad and Penny also dlstmgunshed herself in the all school play Larry Flanagan Marne Baxter and Donna Krahn represent the freshmen in Sensor Band and James Mueller appeared nn the F F A quartet The class officers are President Thomas McCorm :ck Vlce President Thomas Ullmer Secretary Patrucra Van Straten Treasurer David Ward The advising teachers were Mr Flanagan Mr Korth Miss Hend rlcks and Mr Tech Nice work Froshl Page Twel e 1 1 1 1 . . - 11 1 ' 1 1 1 1 1 - - 11 - . , . - 1 1 ' ' ' - 1 F ' ' , ' . n 1 - 1 1 N- 1 - I , 1 , . , . . , : , , . , . , . . 11 11 ' 4 , 1 1 1 1 ' 1 . . 1 11 11 . 11 - 11 - ' - - ' 1 1 1 ' ' 1 . .
