I believe you're taking me into dinner Mr. Van Vleck We All Helped All's Fair The Happy Ending CLASS HISTORY In September of the year of our Lord nine- teen hundred thirty seven, the class of '41 was accepted as a part of Seymour High School. Showing considerable promise and initiative, they quickly started a class treasury, the means of which was the assessment of dues upon the individual members. That was the first time that this had been done in the history of the school. Not content to have only one first to their credit, they became the first freshman class to sponsor a dance. The music for this was provided by The Triple Towners , and was a financial as well as a social success. To celebrate the ending of a successful year, they treated themselves to a holiday at Pleasure Beach Park, Bridgeport. As sophomores, the class of '41 did a big favor to themselves and the rest of the school by discovering jack Heavens and his orchestra at their Sophomore Hop. Another trip to Pleasure Beach ended the year. As juniors, the class of '41 sponsored the first dance of the year, the junior Harvest Dance, with jack Heavens furnishing the mu- sic. As is the custom for the junior class, three one-act plays were produced, these being: Elmer , The Perfect Gentleman , and The Pot Boiler . Also as is the custom, the class rings were selected. Towards the close of the year, the annual Junior Prom was held, the music being that of Earl Strong and his or- chestra. At the start of the senior year, a Masquerade Dance was given, at which Angie Marasco and his band played. A one-act play June Mad , was produced, the hrst time a senior class had had their play before Christmas. Class photo- graphs were taken, and the yearbook was pub- lished. In order to close an eventful four years, the class gave themselves a banquet. In june, 1941, the class of '41, Seymour High School, quietly forsook the portals of their Alma Mater.
