Mr. Howard Mcflurdy has been a member of the commercial department of W. Sexton High School for 36 years. In addition to encouraging mastery of his subject, he strives to instill in his pupils high standards of precision, self-reliance, and respect for independent effort. Outside the classroom Mr. Mcffurdy makes a signal contribu- tion as adviser of the Ceneral Organization Ticket plan, he is school treasurer and business manager of certain all-school activities. An ardent student of the classics, Mr. Nlcffurdy is known for his love of music and literature and for his subtle wit. Although his main responsibilities at Sexton High School are in the area of business, both students and teachers have learned to turn often to him in his unique and unofhcial capacity as facility poet and playwright.
