Bound nf, if .IL We, the Board Members of the Sewickley Area Joint School System are predicated on the belief that, along with thorough develop- ment of the intellect in the high school student, there must be the development of those per- sonal qualities which will contribute to a life of integrity and self-discipline. The Board con- siders it a responsibility to offer training both in and beyond its formal courses to the end that the student may grow in character as he does in knowledge. The Board subscribes to the belief that wholesome and keen competition in extracur- ricular activities and athletics is a vital element in physical and mental development and that they contribute a necessary ingredient to the balanced education ofthe student.
